I’m a UX designer with over 15 years of experience crafting multimodal and AI-driven experiences across music, open source, IoT, digital assistants, and consumer products.
My approach is deeply human-centered: I focus on understanding people’s personalities, emotional behaviors, and motivations to design experiences that truly connect. I explore aesthetics and modes of interaction to design solutions that simplify and enrich daily life—intuitive experiences that resonate with people’s lifestyles.
Growing up in Colombia—a land of vibrant contrasts—and living across multiple countries has shaped how I see the world. This cultural diversity taught me adaptability, empathy, and a passion for creating inclusive, meaningful design for people everywhere.
I design experiences that enhance everyday life:
Ubuntu Touch: Reimagining the mobile experience for people on the move.
Yamaha R&D: Envisioning the future of piano learning with the Future Keyboard Project.
WeMo: Making homes smarter and more secure.
HP Sprout: Blending creativity and 3D exploration.
Amazon Alexa: Creating voice-forward experiences that help families organize and stay connected.
These experiences taught me how technology can seamlessly integrate into environments, empowering users while keeping interactions natural and intuitive.
I believe great design starts with empathy. By uncovering patterns in human behavior and emotional drivers, I create experiences that feel intuitive and meaningful.
I’m interested in both the strategic and the practical aspects of design, from defining vision and system architecture to executing detailed interactions and visual polish.
My process combines:
Deep Research: Ethnographic studies, participatory design, and behavioral insights.
Creative Exploration: Concept ideation, storytelling, and visualization.
Practical Execution: Wireframes, multimodal prototypes, visual design, and implementation.
AI Collaboration: Designing in partnership with AI to optimize workflows, accelerate iteration, and streamline the design process, while keeping the human perspective at the center.
I’m passionate about bridging the digital and physical worlds to craft multi-sensorial, harmonious experiences that fit naturally into people’s lives.
I hold a Master’s in Interaction Design from the Umeå Institute of Design (Sweden), where I honed advanced methodologies—from dynamic prototyping and user research to participatory design and concept storytelling. My team was honored with Best Design Process at the Microsoft Design Expo (2005).
Originally trained in industrial design at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, I have embraced a systematic and holistic approach, designing experiences that seamlessly weave together physical and digital interactions to engage and enrich people’ lives.
I’ve had the privilege of working across Colombia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Japan, China, the Netherlands, the UK, and the USA, gaining insights into designing for diverse cultures, local markets, and global audiences. This experience, combined with my bilingualism, strengthens my ability to communicate, collaborate, and create products that are inclusive, adaptable, and meaningful.
